We had a great day on Sunday 2 July celebrating #thankyouday with our members.
First off was a chance to say well done to many girls who have earned a top award recently including Guide gold, DofE silver and Queen’s Guide awards. It was a special event where we were able to see so many awards being presented and recognising the hard work, dedication, and effort that these young women had put in. It was a delight to see the girls with their families and leaders being able to celebrate their achievements.
We then moved on to celebrate our amazing volunteers as part of national Thank You day to also recognise their commitment to volunteering with us over the years. We started the evening by sharing a picnic together and chatting with many different people before moving onto a campfire singalong. This was a chance to present some long service awards for 40 and 50 years service alongside those volunteers who had achieved their leadership qualification or their residential qualification. The Red Arrows even flew past for us to make it an extra-special event.
