Leicestershire Trefoil Guild celebrate 80 years

This weekend, despite the miserable weather, Leicestershire Trefoil Guild celebrated 80 years of Trefoil Guild and Carolyn finishing her term as chair with a lovely afternoon at Topstones Campsite.
It was a great event with members from across the many guilds in Leicester coming together to share memories, cake and friendships. Members were able to tuck into homemade scones and other sweet treats while being served drinks by Rangers from a local unit. There was also an opportunity to see various items of memorabilia collected throughout the years.
The formal part of the afternoon began with Carolyn thanking members from across the county for joining her in the 80 years of Trefoil Guild celebration. She moved on to present various awards to those who had provided additional service in key admin roles including Clare Vernon as she retires as county secretary.
It was then the turn of Elaine Diack, Midlands Trefoil Guild chair to express her thanks to members and to Carolyn for her dedication, friendship and vision that has helped Leicestershire Trefoil Guild through some challenging years.
No event is complete without a cake, which was cut by 2 ladies born in 1943, the year the Trefoil Guild was formed nationally.
