Charnwood Division has had a great time participating in this challenge over the last six months and I hope you have all enjoyed it too!
The challenge was devised as a way to support our local hospice charity, LOROS, with their rocket inspired summer fundraising event and as a way for guiding to give their support whilst having some fun at the same time. The challenge was based around three zones with a variety of options covering craft, science, activities, quizzes and films. My unit has made models, baked biscuits, set off air rockets at Topstones amongst other activities. We’ve even taken a Park and Ride trip with some of our Brownies and Rangers to visit lots of the rocket installations around Leicester. Our Smartie tubes have all been filled, collected and counted and sent into County Office.
We hope you have all enjoyed joining in with the challenge. 500 badges have been purchased from the office and Smartie tube donations sent in from all areas of our county. I am delighted to report that £966.68 has been raised across Girlguiding Leicestershire and a cheque is being sent to LOROS fundraising for this amount.
Well done to everyone who took part.
