Snow leopards and sleeping bags.

More than 420 Brownies and 80 leaders packed up their sleeping bags for a fun-packed sleepover at Twycross Zoo 12 – 14 April 24.

Half of the Brownie and their leaders arrived on Friday night and ate their packed dinner in the Himalaya room while watching the snow leopards outside the windows.

An evening of soft play, film and learning alongside meeting Ruby and Stripes, the zoo mascots, followed. Then it was time for bed amongst the fairy lights of the Himalaya room with the snow leopards still watching over us.

The next morning, Brownies were up early, packed and having fun in the Gruffalo experience while a second gang of Brownies arrived for their sleepover.

All 420+ Brownies and their leaders spent the day in the zoo meeting lots of animals and completing Zoo Crew challenges to earn extra badges.

At 5pm the Friday Brownies went home and the Saturday Brownies came back into Himalaya for their fun filled evening.

On both nights, sleep might have been a bit limited but most of us grabbed at least 40 winks.

On Sunday morning we waved goodbye to the animals and then everyone went home, with goody bags, badges and carrying all their kit.

The weekend was great fun, the weather was good and we all enjoyed making lots of new friends both human and animal.

The team at Twycross were wonderful and made us feel truly welcome.

We can’t wait to do it again!
