A fun packed weekend open to all qualified Leaders and Leaders-in-Training from around the County. A chance attend some training sessions and take part in fun activities that you can take back to your units. Why not come as an individual or a unit, District, Division team and enjoy the company of like-minded ladies. The cost for the weekend will be £100 which includes all meals and spaces are limited (early booking advised) Bring someone along has never been to a County weekend....

Come and learn bushcraft skills that you can pass on to your girls, help and support County events and camps and widen your knowledge. Saturday - basic skills of bushcraft including using knives, axes and saws, lighting fires without matches and use of a Kelly Kettle. A packed lunch is required. Sunday - intermediate bushcraft skill including using wood and charcoal for cooking and cooking a 3 course roast dinner. Why not make a weekend of it and book a place in the Pods. An evening....

Girlguiding are currently preparing GO for launch on 29 August. From 1 August at 1am both Join Us and Go! are read-only until we launch on 29 August to ensure the information recorded can be transferred as smoothly as possible. You can still make contact with your members and enquiries, you will however, need to wait to update any records on the system until GO is available; e.g. Adding a new girl to your unit, changing an email address for a member. When the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology at our University celebrated International Women’s Day, they didn’t know they would end up helping local girls to find out what a baby ladybird looks like up close. Welcome to Girlguiding Leicestershire

 

Welcome to the website of Girlguiding Leicestershire, home to over 7000 girls, 1300 Leaders and even more volunteers, who all enjoy being a part of the UK’s largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women.

Rainbows is our section for girls aged five to seven.

Rainbows is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun. Girls get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, trying out cooking and playing games. Rainbows is all about learning by doing.

Rainbows follow a programme called the Rainbow Jigsaw, through which they can take part in lots of different activities with girls their own age.

Brownies is our section for girls aged seven to ten.

Through regular meetings, special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays, Brownies learn new hobbies, play music, explore other cultures and get adventurous outdoors. Girls can also extend their knowledge and abilities by working towards Brownie interest badges, covering many different hobbies and activities from Science investigator to Circus skills.

Guides is our section for girls aged 10 to 14.

By becoming part of a worldwide community of girls who learn together and share skills and experiences, Guides have the chance to get out there and do something really different.

Members take part in a wide range of exciting activities at their regular meetings, and at special events or holidays. Girls can get involved in anything from adventure sports to performing arts, travel and taking part in community action projects.

The Senior Section is for young women aged 14 to 25.

Members of The Senior Section can choose from a wide range of unique and exciting opportunities, including travel in the UK and around the world, volunteering with younger girls within Girlguiding as a Mentor or Leader, and working towards valuable qualifications.

The Senior Section offers an exciting and flexible programme with a huge variety of challenges and opportunities for personal development

Adult Leaders and helpers is for people aged from 18

Girlguiding UK welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, age groups and abilities. You could choose to volunteer with any of the sections, or you may have a more specialist skill or interest that you would like to share.  Helping girls achieve their potential is hugely rewarding. But there are lots of benefits for you too including boosting your CV, training and not to mention building lifelong friendships. However much time you have to give, we’d love to hear from you. 
 

The Trefoil Guild is for people aged from 18

Whether you’re involved in guiding or not, Trefoil Guild is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people to share your next adventure - whatever that might be!

The Trefoil Guild is a branch of Girlguiding and its members agree to support the guiding ethos - including the pledge to help other people. Many members pass on their skills and knowledge to local guiding units, from helping Brownies work towards a badge to preparing older girls for a camping adventure. Many members are unit Leaders or helpers in Girlguiding units.
